The formula to boost business productivity

Boosting productivity will be vital for Cumbrian businesses as the county’s working-age population shrinks over the next decade.

Unemployment in Eden and South Lakeland is already the lowest UK, making life difficult for employers looking to recruit staff.

Finding ways to get more out of your existing workforce will be essential if your business is to continue to prosper and grow.

UK productivity lags that of most other developed economies.

The average German worker produces more in four days than their British counterpart does in five.

Could your business be more productive and competitive? Do you want practical techniques to dramatically improve productivity?

Join Cumbria Business Growth Hub on Wednesday 20th June, from 10am to 4pm, at the Hallmark Hotel, Carlisle, for this interactive workshop in which you’ll discover how to dramatically improve the productivity of your business.

This workshop is FREE OF CHARGE to eligible businesses thanks to funding through Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, through Allerdale, Barrow, Carlisle, Eden and South Lakeland Councils, and the European Regional Development Fund.

It would normally cost around £350.

The interactive session gives proven, simple-to-use techniques to maximise the productivity of your organisation through:

  • Employee engagement and wellbeing;
  • Process benchmarking and designing technology;
  • Projects and fantastic project management;
  • Developing your products and services;
  • Building strategic partnerships that deliver innovation and differentiate;
  • Identifying scale-up opportunities and resources;
  • Embedding and maximising productivity techniques.

To confirm your eligibility and book a place, or if you have any questions, please email Catherynn@cumbriachamber.co.uk

Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

This is the second time we have run the workshop. This is what participants from the previous session had to say:

“Thank you, I really enjoyed the course and definitely got a lot out of it that I’ll be using to move forward with my businesses.”

  • Sarah, Sarah Kay Photography

“Thanks very much for the great course” Annie and I will be working on things – we’ll let you know how we get on.”

  • Mike, NJO Technology, Kendal

“Thank you for the information and thanks again for a very informative and interesting day.”

  • Aidan, Quattro, Penrith

The workshop is the latest in a series of free Growth Hub workshops to promote business growth.

Others have covered time management, sales and marketing strategy, management tools, writing to sell, writing website content, market research, improving profitability, future proofing your business, and SEO.

The workshops are part of the wider business support offer provided by the Chamber’s Cumbria Business Growth Hub.
