With over 200 attendees and over 40 exhibitors, Climate Change and Carbon Agenda 2010 was a huge success.  Currently an issue which isn’t going away anytime soon, the event brought together key players and support organisations in energy sustainability and resource efficiency, exploring the available technologies, funding and more.

LADIES SPA & PAMPERING DAY

24th September 2009

 

It was pamper time at the Lodore Falls Hotel this week at a networking event organised by Cumbria Chamber of Commerce.  The event was a sell out in only a few days and more than thirty ladies enjoyed an afternoon of relaxed networking between treatments and afternoon tea.

SUMMER NETWORKING LUNCH

12th June 2009

 

Over 150 business leaders attended the annual Chamber lunch at the Belsfield Hotel in Windermere on 12th June and enjoyed the ultimate networking event with a three course meal and entertaining company.

DUBAI EXPLORED

21st May 2009

 

A range of businesses from around the county participated in an awareness raising event to find out more about Dubai and what the county has to offer those thinking of exporting.  Those who attended the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal listened with interest to Fayha Sultan from the Government of Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing and Peter Gawne-Cain of UKTI.

CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE

Climate Change is becoming a bigger and bigger issue for business but fortunately there's help out there.

 

Our Climate Change Conference held on 19th May at The Rydal Suite, Forum 28, Barrow in Furness was organised with the aim to help businesses get to grips with the issues and understand the impacts on their business.

FURNESS BUSINESS LUNCH

19th March 2009

  

30 businesses from a range of sectors and sizes attended the first Furness Business Lunch held recently at Clarence House Hotel, Dalton. 

 

Guest speaker Radio 4 presenter and Chair of Cumbria Tourism – Eric Robson, gave an interesting and thought provoking speech.

NETWORK FIVE SPEED - A NEW CONTACT EVERY 5 MINUTES

27th January 2009

 

Hexham Racecourse was the venue, when North East Chamber of Commerce joined forces with Cumbria Chamber of Commerce. The format was speed networking, which allowed people to move around the room, making new contacts every three minutes.

KENDAL CHRISTMAS NETWORKING LUNCH

11th December 2008

 

Craig Mackey, Chief Constable of Cumbria Constabulary addressed a record crowd at this year’s Kendal Christmas Networking Lunch held at the Riverside Hotel.  With just over 140 bookings the event attracted a wide range of businesses from all over the county.

NETWORK FIVE - AFTER FIVE SOCIAL BUSINESS NETWORKING

9th October 2008

 

Those who attended this social business networking event at the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel, Barrow in Furness were from a range of businesses including blue chip organisations, PR and media, web design, mortgage brokers, estate agents, and marketing and recruitment together with representatives from the Borough Council and local press.  There was a mix of new and well established businesses and feedback from the event has been very positive.

The first network five speed event took place at the Crown and Mitre Hotel over lunchtime on the 6th August. Network five speed is for those looking for focussed, fun daytime networking where people have the opportunity to make a large number of new business contacts in a short space of time.

NETWORK FIVE - AFTER FIVE SOCIAL BUSINESS NETWORKING

The first network five event took place on the evening of 31st July, at the newly refurbished Square Orange Café Bar in Kendal. Network five offers sophisticated after-work networking for people in business in a chilled early evening environment.  This new concept in networking gives informal access to other businesses and to the people who shape the business environment around the county.

Approaching 50 businesses attended a business breakfast forum held at the Swallow Hilltop Hotel.  The forum organised by Cumbria Chamber of Commerce in association with HSBC dealt with the topical issue facing many businesses – the credit crunch.

The Belsfield Hotel was the picturesque venue for Cumbria Chamber of Commerce’s Summer Networking lunch on Friday 13th June.  130 business people joined together to listen to guest speaker MP Tim Farron and enjoy networking over a delicious three course lunch.

Carlisle Cricket Club was the venue for the re-launch of networking events in the Carlisle area.  The evening of 4th June saw Cumbria Chamber of Commerce & Industry host the ‘Network after Work’ event with approaching 50 business people networking and making new contacts.

Burning business issues were the order of the day for Jamie Reed MP when he addressed members of The Whitehaven & District Business Forum at Ingwell Hall, Westlakes Science & Technology Park, Whitehaven.  This was the initial meeting of the business forum, hosted by Cumbria Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
